Who is Sensei Judy and what is her rank?
Ansei Ueshiro promoted Sensei Judy to 6th degree in December 2000. Sensei Judy
has been the glue of the Shorin-Ryu Karate Organization since 1975. She operated
a school in New York City that began a family organization of schools that
spread throughout the entire world. Judy Barnhart of Merritt Island, formerly
Judy Scaglione, was mentored for 27 years by her former husband Robert Scaglione,
CEO of Shroin-Ryu Karate USA . She received the title of Jo-Kyoshi in January
2003. Kyoshi means "professor or PHD" and the title is used only in the written
word, such as diplomas and formal announcements. Jo means "female." Sensei Judy
currently holds the rank of 7th Dan.

Does Sensei Judy teach?
Sensei Judy currently conducts 10 to 12 classes per week and is responsible for
introducing every new student that joins the Okinawan Karate Dojo to the art and
discipline of Shorin-Ryu Karate, as she has since her Merritt Island school
opened 1987. The school is devoted to promoting the art of Shorin-Ryu, a basic
style that anyone can do. She has taught thousands of students, from Doctors and
Lawyers to Moms, Dads, and children.
