What is Shorin-Ryu Karate USA?
This traditional style was founded by Ansei Ueshiro, the Okinawan famous for bringing Shorin-Ryu Karate to the USA in 1962, hence the title "Shorin-Ryu Karate USA, Under the Direction of Grand Master Ansei Ueshiro." Karate, meaning "empty hand," originated in Okinawa, a chain of islands between Japan and China, several hundred years ago. "Do" means "the way of." In Karate-Do, a student can train his whole life.

What is the mission of the Okiawan Karate Dojo?
To Preserve, Keep the art alive, and to expose the art to as many people as possible so that they may experience the life changing transformation.
What Exactly is this life changing transformation?
Well, as Grand Master Ueshiro used to say "If you are not on the path then I have nothing to say to you..!" All we can guarantee is that stamina, balance and harmony will be achieved through the studying of Kata (Basic Movements), The History of Karate, and the Effects of the "Dojo."
